A state-of-the-art Arbitration Research Centre was inaugrated on 23rd September, 2016 on to at VUDA Convention Centre,Vizag on the occasion of it’s 9th foundation day and the chief guests were
Justice Dhatuk Dr. Haji Hamid Sultan Bin Abu Backer (Judge of Court of Appeal Malaysia),
Mozzam Khan, ( Arbitration Head, Nishith Desai Associates, India),
Ms. Neeti Sachdeva, Registrar & Secretary General, MCIA, India. and
Vice Chancellor, Dr.Kesava Rao Vurrakula.
The book ‘Pari Passu’ was released which was published by Asian Law House where articles from eminent personalities from arbitration field were contributed.The guests for the occasions gave speech on trending issues of arbitration and questionnaire round in the end with the students.
ABOUT CARDS
The Arbitration Research Centre is a brain child of the student body of Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam. This Centre is poised to serve for the Study of Arbitration and Conciliation and as an education & research symposium for individuals interested in Dispute Resolution. Building on the Society’s recognized expertise in this emerging field, the Centre proposes to serve as an imperative Research and Education resource, providing cutting-edge, adept information-cum-analysis on notable issues and current developments in the field of Arbitration. The Centre has a vision to incorporate various ADR activities and develop the required skills through induction sessions, workshops, training sessions and certificate courses for the practioners, academicians and student fraternity. It aims to instill a thirst for knowledge and ways to quench it. CARDS has an Advisory Board of Members consisting of various National and International experts, Judges, academicians, law firm partners, practitioners, etc.
The students core committee who has contributed towards bringing up of this inaugural book includes Gunjan Jain (5th year), Narmdeshwar (4th year), M. Murthy Maan (3rd year), Gitanjali Sanyal (3rd year), Roselin Sara Alex (3rd year) and Suyogya Awasthy (3rd year).
