Ambedkar University’s Panel Discussion on Fundamental Freedoms, Democracy and Dissent [Sept 20, Delhi]:
Registration Open.
About:
Indian democracy today is witnessing an exponential rise in a two pronged attack on life and liberty of citizens, an appalling example of which is the killing of Gauri Lankesh.
In this political climate besides the safety and security of life, academic freedom, free institutions, critical thinking and expression along with the right to democratic dissent appear to be at stake.
This panel discussion aims to deliberate upon the shrinking space for democracy keeping in mind the centrality of university spaces in giving birth to and keeping alive the culture and spirit of democracy.
