Internship is the second and the most important phase of study in the legal education. In the first phase i.e. the theoretical study one has to learn about the legal concepts and logics but in the second phase one has to learn how to apply these terms in the practical life. Internship is must for a law student and it has to be as such. The role of a guide is also have a great importance during the internship a good guide tells about all the trade secrets and professional ethics to his internee in a proper manner. Internship plays a key role in creation of a good lawyer as well as in creation of a good judge, because it is always said that the first impression is last impression. Law student for the first time face the practical aspect of legal profession during his internship period which leaves a great impact on the person and mind of the student.

Internship under an independent lawyer

Few days ago I am getting a chance to do internship under the able guidance of Adv. S.C. Mathur and Adv. K.B. Bassi at Chamber No 279 Yadwindra complex Dist court Patiala. The experience that I gained here is totally different from the bookish knowledge. There are two major benefits of an internship out of which the first and foremost advantage is that one has getting a chance to get the practical knowledge and the second major advantage is law students are got a change in their regular college life which is also a basic necessity in the life of a student.

I am not able to define the experience that I gained there in the limit of the words. The advocates under whom I am getting a chance to do my intern are not treated us as students from the very beginning of our internship, they are treated us as their friends. I do not feel afraid even on a single day during the period of internship. They guide me in a proper way and taught how to create a plaint, how to apply stamps, how to pay the court fees, where to file a case, how to enter in the court of law, how to control our feelings and respect towards the decision of the court and many other things.

They introduce me with honorable judges of the district court which is a proud moment for me, I learn a lot from the judges as well as from guide Adv. S.C.Mathur. First time, when I entered the court room the first thing that come to my mind is that the original court is totally different from the courts of the bollywood. The structure furniture and even the style of working are totally different. I am not from a legal background I saw the pleadings, arguments in the court for first time during my internship, which is quite an interesting thing for me. During the period of internship I come to know about the various practical aspects of legal profession like how to make a file and how to interpret the facts in the court of law and how to stand for justice by plead for it.
