NUJS SACJ ESSAY COMPETITION

ABOUT:
The Society for Advancement of Criminal Justice at National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata is organizing its annual essay competition with the objective of fostering academic discourse on contemporary and emerging issues in the field of criminal law.
Theme: Curbing Consumption of Harmful Substances through Legal Mechanisms
1) Flying India?- Effectiveness of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
2) Liability of Family Members in Enforcement of The Bihar Excise (Amendment) Act, 2016- legally justified?
3) Aspects of Sale of Tobacco to Minors under Section 77 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
Submission:
Soft copy of the essay should be mailed to sacj@nujs.edu with the subject “Submission for NUJS-SACJ Essay Competition 2017”.
Deadline:
The last date for submission is February 26, 2017 (11.59 am).
Prizes:
Winners shall be awarded the following prize money:
i. First Prize: Rs. 5,000/-
ii. Second Prize: Rs. 3,000/-
iii. Third Prize: Rs. 1,000/-
Top twenty submissions shall be given merit certificates. Further, a few entries may also be published in the SACJ Criminal Law Review.
Certificates of participation shall be issued to all recognized entries.
