What Is Bharati Vidyapeeth?
Established in 1992, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Institute of Management and Research (BVIMR), New Delhi focuses on imbibing the values of ethos through inspiration, guidance and imparting knowledge across various stakeholders through adequate creation, inclusion and dissemination of knowledge in various courses such as management education, B.B.A. LLB and LLB programmes.
About the Moot Court Competition
The Moot Court Society of the Department of Law, BVIMR is organizing the 2nd Dr. Patangrao Kadam Memorial National Moot Court Competition in 2024, envisioning a bright future where mooting is an enriching experience that enhances students’ legal proficiency and courtroom decorum.
The Moot Proposition of the Competition primarily deals with the application and interpretation of the Juvenile Justice Act, Indian Penal Code, 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, and Indian Evidence Act, and other relevant laws. However, the participants are expected to explore different dimensions of law and not restrict themselves to the theme of the Competition.
What Are The Details Of The Moot Court Competition?
- Eligibility: The competition is open for students who are pursuing an LLB three-year or BALLB five-year course from any law school/college/university in India recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Each team shall be comprised of a maximum of 3 members (two speakers and one researcher) and a minimum of 2 members (both designated as speakers). No member in a team of two shall be allowed to be represented as a researcher.
- Multiple teams from an institute can participate.
- Registration Fee:

- For registration to the competition, a payment of a Registration Fee of Rs. 3,000/- per team is required to be made by a team willing to register for the competition.
- Registration for the competition is a two-stage process.
- Stage 1: Payment of Registration Fee
- The payment for the registration fee is to be done through NEFT.
- Stage 2: Fill up the Google Form and attach the Payment Receipt.
- After making the payment for registration, teams are supposed to fill the Google Form and attach the receipt of payment so made by the participants.
- Upon the successful completion of the aforementioned requirements, teams shall be deemed to be registered for the competition.
- Location: The competition will be physically held at the BVIMR campus located in Paschim Vihar, New Delhi, adjacent to the Paschim Vihar East Metro Station.
- Accommodation: The institute will not be providing accommodation to the participants. Teams are required to make their own arrangements beforehand. Though student core team can be contacted for any assistance.
- Prizes:
- Winning team- INR 21,000/-
- Runners-up team- INR 11,000/-
- Best Speaker (Male)- INR 5,000/-
- Best Speaker (Female)- INR 5,000/-
- Best Memorial- INR 5,000/-
- NOTE: Additional valuable prizes will be announced soon on social media pages. All the winners shall be presented with trophies along with the aforementioned cash prizes. A certificate of participation shall be provided to all the participants. Further, teams shall be awarded certificates in accordance with the rounds they qualify for.

- Last date for Registration: 25th September, 2024
- Last Date Memorial Submission (Soft Copy): 1st October, 2024
- Memorial Submission (5 Hard Copies): 25th October, 2024
- Preliminary & Quarter Rounds: 25th October, 2024
- Semi-Final & Final Rounds: 26th October, 2024
