What Is The NHRC?
The National Human Rights Commission of India (NHRC) is a statutory body established in 1993 under the Protection of Human Rights Ordinance. Its statutory basis is the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993. The NHRC is responsible for protecting and promoting human rights, including life, liberty, equality, and dignity, guaranteed by the constitution or international covenants.
What Are The Details Of The Opportunity?
- Eligibility :
a. Students studying in 3rd year and onwards of any integrated 5 year PG Course
b. Students studying in 3rd / final year of a graduation course
c. Students of any semester/ year of any post-graduate degree course (also applicable to the students in three year LL.B programme).
d. Students of any semester/ year of any post-graduate diploma course
e. Students who are research scholars in any stream.
- Duration : The internship is being offered for a short period of time for a Month of August, 2024; will commence from 5th August to 16th August, 2024.
- Students must consistently achieve a minimum of 60% marks in Class XII and subsequent years of degree or diploma courses, with CGPA/SGPA and percentage obtained clearly mentioned.
- Applicants must submit a 250-word “Statement of Purpose” for an NHRC Online Short Term Internship, including their application form, highlighting their research potential in human rights, and including details of co-curricular activities, Moot Courts, internships, and research projects.
- Type : Full time Internship Program from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm (Monday to Friday).
- Students must confirm their availability before applying, and they must not be more than 28 years old by July 1st, 2024.
- Award : Student interns completing internships will receive a stipend of Rs. 2000, a certificate of participation based on punctuality, discipline, online sessions, and timely submission of project presentations and reports.
