What Is The Opportunity?

With the legacy of 38 years, NMIMS has grown to be not only one of the top-10 B-schools in India but also emerged as a multi-disciplinary, multi-campus University and fourteen constituent schools, of which Kirit P. Mehta School of Law is one.

Established in the year 2013 approved by the Bar Council of India aims to provide a Law School with a global focus and international outreach dedicated to advancing human dignity, social and economic welfare, and justice through knowledge of the law.

About the International Moot Court Competition

The International Moot Court Competition organised by KPMSOL has experienced significant growth over the years, covering diverse themes such as Investment Treaty Arbitration, Data Privacy, International Environmental Law, National Security vs International Investment, and International Crimes. The competition has attracted participation from reputable global institutions and legal experts worldwide.

Additionally, it involves collaboration with renowned Tier 1 law firms like AZB & Partners, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Khaitan & Co., and Trilegal. Notably, students from various countries including Singapore, Galway, Pakistan,Scotland, Nepal have participated in this event.

About the 6th International Arbitration Moot 2024

Theme for the 6th International Arbitration Moot is International Trade Law. International Trade Law encompasses a set of legal principles found in “global regulations” that govern international trade relationships. This area of law provides the framework for various economic entities to engage in international business activities within legal boundaries.

International trade law is intricate, spanning multiple areas of law such as commercial and company laws, as well as international payments regulations, and it draws from diverse origins. It requires strong analytical abilities, wide-ranging legal expertise, and a profound comprehension of the intricacies involved in global commercial conflicts and the distinct nature of international arbitration.

What Are The Details Of The Opportunity?

  • Eligibility:
  • All students enrolled bona fide in an undergraduate i.e., 3 years/ 5 years and post graduate law programme conducted by any college or university shall be eligible for participation in the competition.
  • Each College/University/Institution shall be allowed to register only one team in the competition.
  • The participating team shall comprise a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. In a team of two members, both the members shall be designated as Speakers. In a team of three members, two members shall be designated as Speakers and the third member of the team shall be designated as a Researcher.
  • NOTE: No additional member or team coach is allowed to accompany the team.
  • Registration Procedure:
  • The teams should provisionally register themselves by filling out the following Google form (attached at the end post the post), latest by 20th June, 2024 (23:59 IST).
  • After the provisional registration, the teams are required to duly fill the registration form and pay the registration fee, the details for which shall be intimated to the participants soon.
  • The registration fee for the memorial qualification round for National Teams is INR 1,500 and for International Teams is USD 20. Subject to qualification of the teams to the oral rounds, an additional registration fee will be charged to such teams. The additional registration fee shall include accommodation charges, participation fee and GST, the details for which shall be intimated to the participants soon.
  • The teams must complete their final registration for the memorial qualification round latest by 25th June, 2024 (23:59 IST) as per the procedure conveyed.

  • Fee:
  • The registration fee for the memorial qualification round for National Teams is INR 1,500 and for International Teams is USD 20.

  • Best Team: INR 60,000
  • Runner’s up: INR 45,000
  • Best Memorial (Claimant): INR 20,000
  • Best Memorial (Respondent): INR 20,000
  • Best Speaker: INR 20,000
  • The Best Team and Best Speaker of the competition will also be provided with a prestigious opportunity to intern with Stratage Law Partners.
