Property is commonly conceptualized by social science researchers as a “bundle of rights and obligations.” They emphasize that property is a relation between people regarding things rather than a link between people and things. A common conceptualization of property is the legal definition of “ownership” rights. Private property is that which is owned by an individual, whereas public property is that which is owned by a state or a group of people. Typically, property is understood as a collection of rights that the sovereign has defined and safeguarded. Customarily, that bundle of rights include:
- Control Use of The Property
- Benefit from The Property (Ex.: Mining Rights And Rent)
- Transfer or Selling of The Property
- Exclude others From The Property
Course Outline: The concept that this subject mater is the result of the mind or intellect is reflected in the phrase “Intellectual Property” and that right to it may be legally protected in the same manner as other types of property. Due to the territorial nature of intellectual property laws, each relevant country must pursue IP registration or enforcement individually. However, as a result of international agreements like the WTO Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, the Berne Convention and the Paris
Convention, these laws are becoming more and more unified. Intellectual Property rules bestow a plethora of exclusive rights about the specific mode or format in which concepts or ideas are communicated or revealed, rather than concerning the concepts or ideas. Instead of referring to the actual intellectual work, the phrase “intellectual property” refers to the particular legal rights that writers, inventors and other IP holders may possess and use.Though there is occasionally some overlap, distinct types of intangible subject mater are protected by separate intellectual property laws. Similar to other types of property, intellectual property (or more specifically, the exclusive rights inherent in the IP) can be given to other people by transfer or license. Under the general heading of “intellectual property,” there are many different types of safeguarding instruments. Among these, the following are significant:

- Layout Designs of Integrated Circuits
- Trade Secrets
- Copyrights
