The Network for International Law Students (NILS) is an international, independent, non-political, non-profit organisation, run by and for law students. The NILS Network includes member law students and young lawyers from across twenty-one countries- Bangladesh, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, India, Ireland, Kenya, Malta, Montenegro, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and United Kingdom.
The Network seeks to promote legal awareness among all people, and encourage communication and cooperation among law students and lawyers internationally; contribute to legal education; promote social responsibility in the field of law; increase opportunities for students to learn about other cultures and legal systems worldwide; and publicize educational and career opportunities in law.
At NILS India, we endeavor to help Indian law students get international exposure and conversely help international law students get acquainted with the legal scenario in India.
The NILS India Chapter functions at two levels – the National Board and the Local Chapters. We have local chapters running across seven major cities of India – Mumbai, Delhi, Patiala, Bhopal, Cuttack, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam and are now calling for applications from law students who wish to begin a chapter in Pune, Bangalore or Kolkata.
The Local Chapters shall be responsible for conducting events, competitions, publications and traineeship programs at the city and state level to inter alia, promote legal awareness and create opportunities for students to educate themselves.

A maximum of one Executive Board will be created in a city.
