Centre for Public Law is organizing a one day workshop on “Anti- Discrimination Law”. The workshop is to be conducted by Dr. Tarunabh Khaitan, Associate Professor and Hackney Fellow in Law, Wadham College, University of Oxford.

About the Speaker:

He completed his undergraduate studies (BA LLB Hons) at the National Law School (Bangalore) between 1999-2004. He then went to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar and completed his postgraduate studies (BCL with distinction, MPhil with distinction, DPhil) at Exeter College. Recently he has authored a book, “A Theory of Discrimination Law” published by Oxford University Press. He has also drafted an Anti – Discrimination Bill for India.

Structure of the Workshop:

The workshop will be conducted in two segments:

1. Architecture of Discrimination Law (11:30 am to 1 pm)

2. Critique of Anti-Discrimination Regime under The Indian Constitution with specific focus on the Doctrine of “only on the ground of” (1:45 pm to 3:30 pm). The Workshop is open to all.
