Who Is The Organiser?

National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is a public law school and a National law University in India located at Cuttack, Odisha. It was established in 2008 (Act 4 of 2008) under the National Law University Odisha Act, commencing its first batch from July 2009. The institute offers undergraduate (integrated B.A./LL.B.), BBA/LL.B., and post-graduate courses (L.L.M, M.Phil., PhD) in law. It is one among the 25 NLUs in the country. Currently NLUO is the fastest growing National Law University (NLU) in all aspects including Academics, Moot Academics, Placements etc.NLUO also has Asia’s Largest Law Library which was inaugurated in 2023.

The Law, Environment and Development Centre (LEDC) investigates the dynamic relationships between the fields of law, environment and development. The main goal of the centre is to advance research and teaching and explore the role each of these disciplines play in realising sustainable development and natural resource use, particularly in the Global South. 

What Are The Details Of The Event?

  • Theme: Climate Change- Law, Justice And The Global South
  • Objective: This course aims to provide a critical understanding of the legal regime on climate change and introduce a justice perspective from the point of view of the marginalised countries and people. It is part of NLUO’s and SOAS’s initiative to disseminate awareness about climate change law and related justice issues.
  • Eligibility: Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Postgraduate research students, early career researchers and Teachers, Professionals
  • Mode of instruction:
    • 16 hours of online interactive classes
    • Spread over a span of 2 months (classes will be held after working hours
  • Mode of Assessment:
    • 2 objective type assessments;
    • 1 subjective type assessment

    • The prescribed fee for the course shall be Rs. 2,500/- which is payable through SBI Collect gateway, steps for the same are mentioned below:

    • Step 4) Furnish required details and click on Next.

  • Important Dates:
    • Last date to apply: 30th December, 2023
    • Notification of the selected candidates: 6 th January, 2024
    • Commencement of the course: 12th January, 2024
    • Conclusion of the course: 1st March, 2024
