The Centre For Comparative Studies In Personal Laws aims to undertake research and impart legal education to all concerned regarding matters relating to personal, matrimonial, succession and other family laws and to provide counseling, assistance, and litigation support, in case of any dispute arises in the related issues. Keeping in mind the changes in social set-up, behavioral patterns of younger and older generations and ever-widening gap between them, the Centre takes up various initiatives to improve inter-se relations to bring about peace and tranquility in the society. Research on different socially relevant topics, analysis of current laws, policies, programmes and judicial pronouncements are carried out. To collaborate and liaise with public and private institutions and NGOs, to invite scholars, academicians, lawyers and judges for lectures and dialogues on contemporary issues relating to children, women, elderly, family etc. and to organize seminars, conferences and debates on various topics related to society, concerning its different stakeholders, primarily on personal laws are some of the main objectives of the Centre.

The Centre for Comparative Studies in Personal Laws, National Law University, Delhi is organizing this National Conference as an initiative to understand and empathize the challenges faced by aging people in today’s changing times, and to deliberate on the various issues bothering them on daily basis. It is high time that we all should discuss and analyze the pressing needs and issues in the lives of elderly people, so that we may voice and suggest some viable solutions to provide them a contended, happy and healthier time, in their later years of life. This National Conference is an attempt to resolve long pending issues and to find out some logical and practical solutions to their social, economic as well as legal problems. The purpose of this Conference is fourfold.

  • Submission Guidelines of Abstracts:
    • Abstract submission must be strictly in MS Word format only. Submission made in any other format shall not be considered.
    • The MS Word file must be named in the manner which is as follows: a) Name of the Author and Co-author (if any) followed by title of the work. (eg: Author, co-author- title)
    • Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two authors.
    • Abstract shall not exceed more than 250-300 words including keywords (maximum 5). Author(s) name, designation and their affiliations are not included.
    • Format: All submissions must be in Times New Roman, font size 12, justified and with w1.5 line spacing, Paper size: A4 Sheet with margin of 1 cm.
    • Abstract must be accompanied by a Cover page which must include following details:
      a) Title of the Paper
      b) Name of the Author and Co-author (if any)
      c) Designation
      d) Affiliation
      e) Contact details of Author and Co-author (if any) (E-mail ID, Contact number
      etc.,).
