What Are The Details Of The Opportunity?

  • Job Post: Professor/ Senior Professor
  • Department: School of Law
  • Job Location: UPES Campus, Dehradun
  • Objective: The position will head the cluster and will be responsible for managing overall operations including, hiring and retention of faculty members, leading curriculum design and updation, monitoring academic delivery and its quality. The position will be responsible for driving research as per the inputs received from Associate Dean – Academics and ensuring that the research outcomes for the cluster are as per the allocated targets and quality standards. It will also be responsible for implementing the initiatives identified for the rankings and accreditations, maintaining the cluster level database, supporting in the audits and closure of gaps highlighted during the audits. The position will also undertake faculty management and ensure student engagement at the cluster level.

    • Qualification:
      • Ph.D. in the required domain
      • Strong Academic profile including research work done, papers published and/or presented in refereed journal and forums
    • Experience:
      • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience at a renowned University/ Institute
      • At least 5 years of experience in Academic Administration or Heading a Department

  • Key Activities & Responsibilities:
    • Cluster Operation
      • Drive initiatives at the cluster level to meet the goals of the school
      • Play a key role in hiring and retaining the right faculty
      • Provide inputs to the Dean-School on budgeting for the cluster
      • Manage the expenses of the Cluster within allocated budget
      • Work closely with the Assoc. Dean – Academics for Curriculum design and updation
      • Ensure robustness of the courses and the teaching quality along with the Associate Dean – Academics
      • Extend support to the Enrollment team for activities related to admissions for the Cluster. Interact with the prospective students and their parents during enrollment activities
      • Coordinate with the placement team and ensure preparedness of students eligible for placement
      • Interact with companies regarding placement and internship opportunities for students
    • Teaching & Learning
      • Review the analysis and information shared by Manager – Operations and Analytics regarding teaching and learning and teaching quality
      • Take initiatives to bridge the gaps and address the issues highlighted by Manager-Operations & Analytics
      • Teach the allotted subjects; prepare online modules for the subject and conduct assessment and evaluations
    • Research
      • Ensure that the goal assigned to the cluster for research output is achieved for the year.
      • Guide and encourage faculty for conducting good quality research and for publishing research papers
      • Extend support to the faculty in research related requirements
      • Guide Ph.D. scholars assigned to the cluster
      • Conduct research and write research papers as per individual goals identified for the cluster for the year
    • Ranking & Accreditation
      • Ensure maintenance of cluster level databases and timely providing the required information for rankings and accreditations
      • Implement initiatives at the cluster level, identified for specific ranking and accreditations and support in their audits
      • Work closely with the Dean-School, Associate Dean – Academics and Director-Academic Management for closure of the gaps highlighted during these audits
    • Faculty Management
      • Effectively manage the performance of the faculty and conduct their performance appraisals
      • Identify learning needs and ensure required industry exposure and opportunities for development for the faculty
      • Strengthen inter-department communication, engender good team dynamics and resolve internal issues as required
    • Student Experience
      •  Monitor the student feedback shared by Manager – Operations & Analytics and take initiatives to address the issues
      •  Ensure timely resolution of all student related issues and grievances through program leaders/ faculty channels
      •  Monitor the Net Promoter Score for the Cluster and take initiatives for its improvement
