What Is SRM University, Sonepat, Haryana (SRMUH)?

SRM University Delhi-NCR Haryana (SRMUH) carries forward the legacy of SRM Group of Institutions. SRM’s initiative towards the cause of quality education began in 1969 with the establishment of a primary school and today after five decades of its existence it has 22 institutions and 4 Universities. SRMUH was established as a State Private University under the Haryana Private Universities Act, 2006 (as amended by Haryana Act No. 8 of 2013), in furtherance of the objective of the SRM group to reach out to a greater number of stakeholders in Northern India.

Faculty of Law is one of faculties at the vibrant SRMUH family which offers professional courses recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI). As a Centre of Excellence in Law, we further the vision of our university to “emerge as a leading world-class university that creates and disseminates knowledge upholding the highest standards of instruction. Faculty of Law cater to a diverse group of students especially focusing upon curating their life skills ready for competitive legal profession.

The SRMUH LAW REVIEW (SRMLR) is the journal of the Faculty of Law at SRM University Delhi-NCR Sonepat. SRMLR has the aim to further the legal scholarship by publishing original articles from scholars and professionals in the field. Exceptional writings from students of law may also be accepted by the Editorial Team. The Journal aspire to provide exhaustive analysis, discussion, and insight into the ever-evolving landscape of legal issues and is dedicated to explore and catalyse legal developments in today’s dynamic global landscape. The objective of the Journal is to initiate deliberations on emerging social, ethical and legal concerns in the context of contemporary social, political, and technological realities.

What Are The Details Of The Opportunity?

  • Objective: This Inaugural Issue of the Journal would like to explore the legal dimensions national and international of the areas highlighted and also the ones not highlighted in the above statements
  • Eligibility: Researchers, scholars, practitioners, and experts in the field of law or interested researchers from other disciplines can contribute their original research articles, case studies, and critical analyses.
  • Themes: Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
    • Rights of senior citizens and Divyangjan
    • IPR regime and competitiveness
    • Right to education
    • Delivering SDGs by 2030
    • Environmental law and legal issues
    • Entrepreneurship – legal challenges and solutions
    • Financial Inclusion in India
    • Abrasion in the Federal System – competitive, cooperative Federalism
    • Fiscal federalism
    • Tourism law
    • Water conservation – preventing third world war
    • Panchayati raj system – where have we reached
    • The practice of secular democracy
    • Artificial intelligence and its implication for the legal sector
    • Health and food laws.
    • Criminal justice reforms
    • Renewed globalization and legal challenges in international trade
    • Accountability of judiciary and characterization of modern State
  • Last date to submit the abstract: 30th June 2023
  • Submission of Abstracts: Proposal for the articles shall be submitted in 500 words with few keywords. Please submit before 30th June, 2023. As they have limitation to accept number of papers, abstracts received on time will get priority for review.
  • Format for Writing the Articles: The article shall be written in A4 sheet word document and shall follow the following formatting guidelines:
    • Times New Roman Font 12 with 1.5 line spacing.
    • All citations shall be placed only in footnotes.
    • Divide your article in sub-parts for easy reading and review
    • Italics or quotes for emphasising may be used, though rarely.
    • Words which are not of English origin should be italicised.
    • Charts, graphs, etc., may be used (original to be provided with the submission separately)
    • Please submit your manuscript in word format
    • For citations, please follow the Journal of Indian Law Institute, that is, more commonly referred as ILI Footnoting style.
  • Important dates:
    • Release of Call for Papers: 2nd June, 2023
    • Send the Abstracts (500 words) on or before: 30th June, 2023
    • Notification of acceptance of abstracts: 15th July. 2023
    • Final manuscript submission: 30th September, 2023
    • Final acceptance after plagiarism check and editorial review: 30th October, 2023
    • Publication of Journal by End of December 2023

Important Note for contributors: (i) To abide by principles of academic integrity and intellectual honesty, (ii) Manuscripts submitted to us should be original and works which are already published in other places should not be submitted, & (iii) If the author has previously published in the same area/topic, then kindly mention
the same in your cover letter, preferably, with a copy of the publication
