We Congratulate Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeevi ShanthaKumar, Director, Gujarat National Law University for being appointed as the Convenor for CLAT 2024 in the General Body Meeting of the Consortium of NLUs held on 31st January 2023 at Diu.

About The Consortium Of NLUs:

The Consortium of National Law Universities was established on 19th August, 2017 with the aim of improving standards of legal education in the country and serving the justice system through legal education. The Consortium aspires to facilitate better coordination amongst National Law Schools to achieve highest standards of legal education in the country. Twenty-two National Law Universities have joined the Consortium as members.

About Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeevi ShanthaKumar:

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeevi Shanthakumar is currently serving as the Director of Gujarat National Law University, and Director in-charge of Gujarat Maritime University. Having more than 30 years of teaching experience in various reputable universities including Hidayatullah National Law University with the specialization in Environmental Law, Human Rights Law, International Law and Constitutional Law, he has authored 3 books on Environmental Law and 2 books on Human Rights Law published by LexisNexis, National Law School of India University (CEERA), Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, etc and published various research articles on contemporary legal issues in various national and international journals and edited volumes. He had travelled around the globe extensively and had the privilege of being invited to deliver lectures at 30 premier Universities in various countries.

He has been a very active member of the International Association of Law Schools, USA and a recipient of prestigious awards such as the Environmental Law Champion Development Award from the Asian Development Bank, Philippines and the Best Social Scientist Award from the Indian Society of Criminology. He is the chair of the Environmental Law Study Group of the International Association of Law Schools and a member of the Teaching and Capacity Building Committee of the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law and he had also executed the Environmental Law Capacity Building Project funded by the World Bank; the Law Teaching and Legal Research Skills Project of the British Council and Cardiff University, UK, and a research project on audio piracy funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
