Internship Opportunity For Law Students At Centre’s Department Of Legal Affairs- Apply Now

• The Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India, has introduced internship programme for LL.B students at its offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata.
• Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted about this today as : “A great opportunity to work at the Department of Legal Affairs, as it introduces #internships for law students for offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai. I recommend young talent to apply for this internship”.

Eligibility Criteria

Indian students who are pursuing studies in 2nd & 3rd year of three-year degree course and in 3rd to 5th year of five-year degree course or students who have completed their LLB course from any recognized college/law school/university are eligibile apply for this program.

Tenure of Engagement

• The duration of internship ordinarily remains for a period of one month. Such internship shall commence from the first working day of every month unless specified.
• Monthly internship shall tentatively start from June, 2022 till May, 2023.
• The maximum number of interns to be allowed in a given months will be 10-30. The interns may be given an honorarium of Rs.5000/- on completion of their internship.

Underlying Intent

The purpose of this Programme is to well acquaint young law students with the working of Department of Legal Affairs by giving training in the field of research & referencing work, tendering legal advice in various specialized fields of law such as constitutional & administrative law, finance law, infrastructure law, economic law, labour law, conveyancing, arbitration & contract law etc.
