CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

About the Position:

The candidate for the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) should be dynamic, self-motivated professional to lead a team of Officers in the Institute and guide them in their day-to-day activities and to coordinate the academic and administrative activities of the Institute.

Brief Job Description:

  • Overall supervision and responsible for Personnel, Stores and Purchase, Security, Outsourced Operations, Legal & Contracts, Transport, Executive Residences, Medical Centre, Rajbhasha Vibhag and Sports Complex in addition to other responsibilities assigned by the Director from time to time.
  • CAO will be overall in-charge of administrative functions and will report to the Director and assist him in the day-to-day functioning of the Institute.
  • CAO will be Appellate Authority for RTI matters.
  • Appointing authority and Disciplinary authority for Administrative Staff as per the delegation of authority by the Board/Director.
  • Implementation of various other guidelines and orders received from the Government of India. Would also help IIM Indore maintain links with government and industries.
  • Nodal Officer for matters pertaining to MOE like grievances, SC/ST/OBC, Parliamentary Questions etc. and liaison with Ministry of Education.
  • Responsible for making arrangements for annual convocation, conferences and major events of the Institute.
  • Member of executive committees of the programmes.
  • Academic facilitation- Administrative and Logistic support for all Institute activities.
  • To coordinate various activities and events of the Alumni.
  • Secretary to the Board of Governors of IIM Indore/its committees, follow-ups and the preparation of Agenda and Minutes of such meetings.

Qualification

Postgraduate degree in any discipline (10+2+3+2) with a degree/diploma in management/Law/HRM.

or

A Postgraduate in management from a reputed University/Institution as a full-time student.

or

Engineering graduates with a degree/diploma in management/Law/HRM

Experience

Minimum 15 years in administrative positions. Candidates should have worked in Central Government / Autonomous bodies of the Central Govt./ Reputed educational institutions or research establishments/ Public/Private sector organizations in a responsible position.

Preference will be given to the candidates who have worked in Senior Administrative Positions in Institute of National Importance such as IITs/IIMs.

Salary & Allowances

Salary will not be a constraint for the deserving candidate and monthly consolidated emoluments will be decided only after the interview.

Nature of Appointment                            

The position would be on contractual basis, initially for two years and extendable one year at a time, based on performance, which may be extended for further period as required.

  3. Mere fulfilling of the minimum qualification and experience requirements will not confer any right on the candidates for being called for Interview or/and their selection.
  4. Candidates not found suitable for the position may be considered for a lower position or on a lower pay scale or on an appropriate consolidated salary.
  5. The Institute reserves the right not to select anyone without assigning any reason.
  6. The Institute reserves the right to change/apply appropriate shortlisting criteria in case of large number of applications.

  11. Candidates who belong to SC/ST/PwD category and female candidates are exempted from paying application fee. While making payment please fill “14/2021” under the Recruitment Number field and please fill “Chief Administrative Officer” under the field “Application Fee for the Post of” in the online payment portal.
