The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is India’s first energy university, with a mission to train domain-specific professionals in management, engineering, and law at the graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
The Competition’s Background
Due to the exponential development in Internet penetration and the highly affordable Smartphone market, cyber-crime, financial fraud through digital payments, and data breaches have become a big problem in the country.
These victims of cybercrime, who have also increased dramatically over time, are frequently unsure of what they should do or how they should handle circumstances, and are frequently blamed for the incidents by society or the police. As a result, young law students must grasp how to approach these victims and assist them in resolving their problems.
Technololawgy Society, in collaboration with the Client Counselling Association and the Moot Court Association, will host the first National Cyber Law Client Counselling Competition, in which the clients will be real-life victims of cybercrime.
