A legislative act of the state of Punjab established the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (‘RGNUL’) in 2006 as a National Law University to meet the need for a centre of excellence in legal education. It aims to serve society through legal reforms by preparing professionally competent lawyers, inquisitive researchers, capable administrators, conscientious judicial officers, and, most importantly, socially responsible citizens who will be fully and continuously engaged in the nation-building process. In order to achieve its goals, the university not only offers a variety of courses but also supports a number of centres.
For Volume 5, Issue 2 of the CASIHR Journal on Human Rights Practice, the Centre for Advanced Studies in Human Rights (CASIHR), Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, invites papers, case comments, and book reviews (CASIHR JHRP). The adherence to a rigorous thematic issue has been dispensed with in order to create a platform for more targeted, specialised, and diversified inputs and analyses. This volume is not theme specific in nature, and authors are allowed to write on any topic pertinent to the field of Human Rights. Following an initial screening, the submissions will be subjected to a double-blind peer review procedure by relevant academicians and specialists.
