Prof. (Dr.) Neelakanta Ramakrishna Madhva Menon (4th May 1935 – 8th May 2019) was an eminent jurist and legal educator, considered by many as the father of modern legal education in India. He was the founder-director of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal and the founder Vice-Chancellor of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS). Prof. Menon was awarded with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian honour, by the Government of India in 2003. Prof. Menon was conferred with the degree of Doctorate in Law (Honoris Causa) by Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal in the year 2016. To commemorate his services and exemplary contribution to legal education and its evolution, the Center for Professional Legal Education and Training (CPLET) at Faculty of Law has been organizing Refresher Courses with varied themes and domains with current developments in law as the prime focus for early-career academicians, research scholars and doctoral candidates.

The centre for Professional Legal Education and Training is specially geared to train and prepare students for competitive exams like judicial services, civil services, NET, SET, CLAT and other competitive with an objective of making students industry-ready. About the Online Refresher Course for Law Teachers, 2021

The two-week Online Refresher Course (25th June, 2021 – 9th July, 2021) to be organized by the JLU Faculty of Law, Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal, is designed to enhance the teaching and research skills of early career researchers and academicians who are actively engaged in the field of legal education. The aim of this Online Refresher Course is to provide the participants with an opportunity to acquire knowledge about contemporary developments that are taking place in various specialized fields of Law. The Online Refresher Course aims to deepen the understanding of contemporary teaching tools and methodologies that are deployed by scholars in the field of Law globally. Training platform for the Online Refresher Course shall be Zoom. Two sessions per day shall be conducted. The sessions shall be followed by assignments which shall be circulated among the participant at the end of the day. The assignments shall be duly evaluated and graded by the core organizing team

Who Can Participate?
This Refresher course has been specifically designed to hone the skills and upgrade the knowledge of early-career academicians, research scholars, advocates and legal professionals.

Registration Procedure:
As the seats are limited, interested candidates are requested to register for the course at the earliest. Candidates are required to duly fill the registration form the link of which is mentioned below. Application for the course will be considered complete only after the payment of registration fees. No payment shall be accepted after the last date of registration. In the event of non-selection of the applicant, the registration fee shall be refunded.
