VIPS National Research Paper Writing Competition 2016

For your kind reference, short details of the program are as follows:

Vivekananda Law School, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, Delhi is pleased to organize its first National Research Paper Writing Competition 2016.

We hereby invite your esteemed university/ institution/college to participate in the aforementioned Competition. VIPS was established in the year 2000 with the vision to maintain and promote excellence in education and for imparting quality professional education comparable with the best in the world. Our aim is to put across a ‘renovated and rejuvenated spirit of education’. We understand the need to build a ‘character’ of the institute which is nurtured not merely by the quality and commitment of the faculty but also by the ethos and environment upon which its foundations have been laid. In recognition of its continuous pursuit of wholesome education VIPS has been ranked as the Sixth Emerging Law College in 2016 by India Today- Nielson Survey and has also been accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC.

Eligibility Criteria-

The Competition is open to students pursuing LL.B (3 year and 5 year)/LL.M courses from any recognized university across the country.

Theme for the Research Paper:

“Globalisation, Technology and Law”

Sub-themes for the submission of the research paper may include, but are not limited to:

  • Globalization and law: Trans-National Corporation; Regulation, Responsibility and Human Rights.
  • Biotechnology and Medicine law: Bio-terrorism, medical patents,medical tourism.
  • E-Business and law: e-commerce issues, regulation of start-ups, consumer protection, product safety and quality, intellectual property and liability, competition law violations and concerns, jurisdictional issues.
  • Technology and Law: cyber-crimes, cyber-security, cyber-forensics, privacy, telecommunications.

Registration details and Submission procedure-

The Students interested are required to send the duly completed registration form to lexquestor@gmail.com along with a scanned copy of a Demand Draft in favour of “Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies “payable at Delhi of Rs.500 /- (per entry in case of single author) and Rs. 600/- (per entry in case of coauthorship) as the registration fee. The hard copy of the Demand Draft and registration form must be sent to Dean, Vivekananda Law School, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, AU Block, Pitampura Outer Ring Road, New Delhi -110034. All the research papers must be submitted, both in soft and hard form. The hard copies must reach on or before the deadline for submission at

Important dates:

Last date for Registration:September 20, 2016

Last date for submission: October 10, 2016

Announcement of result: Last week of October 2016

Declaration of result and prizes:

The result shall be declared in the last week of October, 2016. The names of the winner shall be displayed on the college website i.e. www.vips.edu/vls. The winners shall also be intimated separately.

PRIZE:

First prize-

Rs. 3000/- and an opportunity to get published in the Vivekananda Journal of research bearing ISSN NO: 2319-8702.

Second prize: Rs. 2000/- Third prize: Rs. 1500/-

The winners shall be given the monetary prize as well as the certificates. Best paper will be considered for publication in the Vivekananda Journal of Research bearing ISSN 2319-8702
