Online Debate Competition on Privatisation of Indian Economy by Constitutional Club, GGSIPU

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is the first university established in 1998 by Govt. of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998 read with its Amendment in 1999 The University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), India under section 12B of UGC Act.

About the Competition

The Constitutional Club of GGSIPU (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University), is organizing an Online Debate Competition on the topic ‘Privatisation of Indian Economy: A Boon or a Bane‘ on 1st May 2021.

Eligibility Criteria

Students of UGC-approved Universities/Colleges are invited to participate.

General Rules

  • There is no registration fee.
  • The winner(s) of the competition shall be awarded with a certificate and a trophy.
  • Decisions of the organising team shall be final and binding.
  • Non-Compliance by the participant of any guidelines mentioned herein and elsewhere shall result in immediate disqualification.
  • Maximum of 10 teams can participate, First come first serve basis

Guidelines and Rules of the Competition

  • Speaking: Each speaker shall keep their cameras and mics on throughout the round, especially when he/she is speaking (including the rebuttals). Further, each participant, once has joined the link, shall keep their cameras on throughout the round.
  • Time Limit: Each speaker shall be given a time of 3 minutes for speaking for/against the motion and 2 minutes for rebuttal. Further, 2 marks shall be deducted for each minute a speaker exceeds the abovementioned time limits.
  • Use of Electronic Devices: The Organizing team may take appropriate action against any participant involved in the act of use of any electronic devices (other than the device used for joining the link of the competition) during the competition.
  • Language: The Language of the competition is English and no other language is allowed for the competition.
  • Decorum: Each participant may maintain the decorum of the competition and shall not be involved in any act of misconduct. Any indiscipline towards any other participant or any member of the organizing team shall be dealt with strictly. Further, no participant shall be involved in any act of using any language offensive or unpleasant to any other person, company, organization, or institution. The Organizing team may take appropriate action against any participant involved in the act of misconduct/indiscipline during the competition.
