1. Assistant/Associate Dean

Indian School of Public Policy is inviting applications for a full-time position at the level of an Assistant/Associate Dean. ISPP currently runs a unique one-year postgraduate programme in Public Policy, Design & Management with the aim to train its scholars to be leaders for policy action. The programme is for career bureaucrats, corporate managers of public affairs divisions, those involved in NGO activities as well as other working professionals.

  • Eligibility:
    • The applicant must have a PhD from a recognised Institution of higher learning in India or abroad, with at least 7 years of experience in teaching and research in the area of public policy and, with expertise in any one or more of the following fields — social sciences, technology and technology policy, regulation and international relations.
    • The applicant should be able to show evidence of rigorous (empirical and/or theoretical) training in any or more of the fields mentioned above. Of the minimum 7 years of experience, at least 2 years must be in academic administration. The requirement of the minimum years of experience may be relaxed for otherwise outstanding candidates.
  • Responsibilities:
    • The selected applicant will teach 3 half-courses (equivalent to 1.5 full courses of 40 hours each) each year and conduct research activities leading to publishable outputs in peer-reviewed academic journals.
    • In addition, the selected applicant will be expected to work closely with the Dean in all academic administration matters. In particular, if and when the executive programmes are operationalised, the selected candidate will be expected to design, plan and run them.

2. Assistant Professor

Indian School of Public Policy is inviting applications for full-time faculty positions at the level of an Assistant Professor. ISPP currently runs a unique one-year postgraduate program in Public Policy, Design & Management with the aim to train its scholars to be leaders for policy action. The programme is for career bureaucrats, corporate managers of public affairs divisions, those involved in NGO activities as well as other working professionals.

  • Eligibility:
    • The applicant for Assistant Professorship must have a PhD from a recognised Institution of higher learning in India or abroad.
    • The applicant must be able to demonstrate interest in teaching and conducting research in the area of public policy.
    • The applicant must demonstrate rigorous (empirical and/or theoretical) training in any or more of the following fields — social sciences, technology and technology policy, regulation and international relations.
  • Responsibilities:
    • The selected applicant will teach 4 half-courses (equivalent to 2 full courses of 40 hours each) each year and conduct research activities leading to publishable outputs in peer-reviewed academic journals and undertake all academic duties of a faculty member in an educational institute.
    • In addition, if and when the executive programmes are operationalised, a selected candidate will be expected to participate in them.

    • The applicant should be able to show evidence of research output on public policy and/or in one or more of the fields mentioned above.
    • The requirement of the minimum years of experience may be relaxed for outstanding candidates who may not meet this criterion.
  • Responsibilities:
    • The selected applicant will teach 4 half-courses (equivalent to 2 full courses of 40 hours each) each year, conduct research activities leading to publishable outputs in peer-reviewed academic journals and undertake all academic administration duties of a faculty member in an educational institute.
