About the organisers

Government Law College (GLC), established in 1855, has the distinction of being the oldest Law College in Asia, dating even prior to the University of Mumbai, and enjoys a pre-eminent reputation for excellence in the field of legal education.

The Late Mr. M. C. Chagla was appointed as the First Indian Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. He also served as the Ambassador to the USA, Mexico, Cuba, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bombay, High Commissioner to England and Union Minister for Education.

Chief Justice M. C. Chagla also served as a Professor of Constitutional Law at the Government Law College for a number of years.

About the moot court competition

Government Law College, Mumbai in association with the Chief Justice M. C. Chagla Memorial Trust is pleased to announce the 26th M. C. Chagla Memorial Government Law College National Moot Court Competition to be held on 28th & 29th September 2019.

Participation is limited to 16 teams.

Eligibility

Participation is restricted to bonafide law students either enrolled in the 3-year LLB Law course or the 5-year integrated Law course.

Team size and other information
Each team shall comprise of three (3) members only, consisting of two (2) speakers and one (1) researcher.

Registration Procedure

The registration form is here.

The duly filled Registration Form must be scanned and sent via email to mcchagla.glc@gmail.com on or before 6th August 2019.

No change in the names of the participants shall be permitted after the receipt of the Registration Form, except at the sole discretion of the Organisers.

In addition, teams must also send a scanned copy of the Demand Draft via e-mail to mcchagla.glc@gmail.com by 13th August,
2019.

Fee Details

A Registration Fee of Rs. 4,500/- (Rupees four thousand five hundred only) is payable along with the attached Registration Form for the teams qualifying to the competition.

The Registration Fee must be in the form of a Demand Draft in the name of “Moot Court Association, Govt. Law College” payable at Mumbai.

The Registration Fee (Demand Draft) and the Registration Form must be sent to the Government Law College, Mumbai latest by 16th August 2019 at the following postal address:

Deadlines

The last date for the submission of Registration Form is 6th August 2019.
