Who Is The Organizer?
Raffles Law School, Raffles University conventionally runs Law Clinics that provide legal services to those who cannot, otherwise, access these services. With the help of the District Legal Services Authority, under the banner of Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, the school has been continuously running legal clinic movements and has, had a large impact on access to legal services, to the local community.
The school, in collaboration with Surana & Surana International Attorneys and with Rajasthan Education Trust Jaipur, every year organizes the Surana & Surana National Labour Law Moot Court Competition and C.L. Agrawal Memorial National Moot Court Competition respectively. Raffles Law School, Raffles University with its organizing partner Rajasthan Education Trust, Jaipur is proud to announce the 8th C.L. Agrawal Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2024. It is an initiative taken forward by the organizers to create awareness in the field primarily of Criminal Law, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Service Law, Competition Law, etc.
This year’s case has been drafted to test the knowledge, research aptitude, and application of the law by the participants in the field of Constitutional Law. The event will provide a unique opportunity for participants to become a part of a powerful venture started by two of the experienced moot court competition organizers, i.e., School of Law, Raffles University, and Rajasthan Education Trust, Jaipur. The former takes pride in associating itself with another successful national-level moot court competition while the latter is a familiar name for hosting, administering, and funding numerous moot court competitions nationally and internationally.
What Are The Details Of The Competition?
- Date of the event: 8th-10th March 2024
- Mode: Offline mode
- Eligibility Criteria:
- The competition is open for bonafide students pursuing 5 years and 3 years of law programs in India.
- Each law college shall be eligible to send one team. Each team shall be provided with the team code.
- Team Composition:
- Each team shall comprise three (3) members out of which two (2) will be speakers and one (1) researcher.
- An observer is allowed to be brought to the competition with a condition that he/she shall not intervene in any proceedings.
- The team should not disclose the identity of their institution in the course of proceedings in the courtrooms; such disclosure shall invite penalties including disqualification.
- Venue: The 8th C.L. Agrawal Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2024, shall be held at the Raffles Law School, Raffles University, Neemrana, Delhi NCR from 8th to 10th March 2024.
- Awards/ Prizes:
- Rs. 20,000/- Cash Prize and Trophy to the Winners.
- Rs. 10,000/- Cash Prize and Trophy to the Runner-ups.
- Rs. 5,000/- Cash Prize and Trophy to the Best Speaker.
- Rs. 7,000/- Cash Prize and Trophy for the Best Memorial.
- Registration details:
- The teams are requested to send an e-copy of the Registration Form to mcc@rafflesuniversity.edu.in on or before February 21, 2024.
- A registration fee (non-refundable) of Rs. 4500/- (Rupees Four Thousand and Five Hundred Only) is to be paid by way of Online Money Transfer / UPI / Paytm / Google in favor of Raffles University.
- The charges for observers will be Rs. 800 (Eight Hundred only) per day.
- Details: Student’s Name and College/Institution Name
- The scanned copy of the receipt of online payment (or issues related to payment) must be submitted by email to mcc@rafflesuniversity.edu.in
- No change in the names of the participants shall be permitted after the receipt of the Registration Form, except at the sole discretion of the Organizers.
- Teams should clearly mention the participant’s name including the year/semester of study.
- Soft copies for each side of Memorials (Plaintiff and Defendant) must reach the organizers latest by 01-03-2024 (Friday) to the Moot Court Committee at mcc@rafflesuniversity.edu.in and hard copy of the same and the compendium shall reach the School of Law, Raffles University, Japanese Zone, NH – 48, Neemrana – 301705 District – Alwar, Rajasthan, India latest by March 4, 2024 (Monday). A total of 5 hard copies must be submitted to the organizers out of which 2 of each side are to be delivered by March 4, 2024 (Monday).
