The Government Law College, Mumbai, (GLC Mumbai), India, founded in 1855, is the oldest law school in Asia. The college, affiliated to the University of Mumbai, is run by the Government of Maharashtra.
Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT) was envisioned to preserve and protect India’s rich natural heritage. Currently, WCT works in and around 160 Protected Areas across 23 states, covering 82% of India’s 50 tiger reserves. WCT aims to reduce anthropogenic pressure on forests and river systems with the involvement of the forest department, local communities, corporations, and other NGOs, with a firm belief in landscape-level conservation, factoring in the needs of people dependent on these forests. Government Law College, Mumbai, and Wildlife Conservation Trust are pleased to announce DSP Investment Managers (DSPIM) as the Supporting Partner for the 5th Wildlife Protection Government Law College National Moot Court Competition, 2023.
DSP Investment Managers (DSPIM) is an Indian asset management company (AMC), with a wide range of offerings across the risk-reward spectrum. DSPIM has been an avid supporter of WCT’s initiatives & projects for several years. DSPIM is enthusiastic about supporting the ‘Combating Wildlife Crime’ Project and looks forward to battling this grave issue and making a difference together.
What Are The Details Of The Competition?
- Date of the event: 25th November, 2023, and 8th-9th December, 2023
- Eligibility: Current students of any recognized law college in the country. Each team shall comprise three students- two speakers and one researcher.
- Registration Process: Interested Teams can provisionally register for the competition by sending an email to wpm.glc@gmail.com stating their interest in registering. Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis. Participation is limited to 16 teams. Only after the provisional registration has been confirmed will a link to a Google Form and details for the payment of registration fees be provided.
- Registration Fees: Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only). he payment of registration fees will be through NEFT. the details of which will be provided once the provisional registration has been confirmed. The teams will be required to upload the screenshot/proof of the same while filling out the Google form for registration.

- E-certificates of participation will be given to all the participants and all the winners of awards will be presented with certificates of merit and a cash prize.

- Last Date for seeking clarifications regarding the Moot Proposition: 19th October, 2023
- Anticipated Release of corrections and clarifications regarding the Moot Proposition: 23rd October, 2023
- Last Date for Submission of Soft Copies of Memorials: 12th November, 2023
- Last Date for Submission of Soft Copies of Compendium: 15th November, 2023
- Preliminary Rounds of the Competition (Online via Zoom): 25th November, 2023
- Last Date for Submissions of Hard Copies of Memorials: 1st December, 2023

- Panel Discussion and Quarter Round of Competition: 8th December, 2023
