This institution of learning was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature (Act No. 9 of 2012) to provide quality legal education. TNNLU is the brainchild of the former Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. J Jayalalithaa who laid its foundation stone on 13th February 2012.
About The Competition
The Tamil Nadu National Law University is hosting its 3rd National Mediation Arbitration (NMAC) between the 4th-6th of June 2021.
This distinct hybrid of the Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism aims to nurture the future members of the Indian legal fraternity by enabling them to face the dynamic Indian Justice System.
This competition consists of two separate rounds of Mediation and Arbitration. The team portraying the role of Client- Counsel in the Mediation rounds will become the Counsels in the Arbitration rounds. The participant portraying the role of a Mediator in the Mediation rounds will become the Arbitrator in the Arbitration Rounds. All the participants will be judged by a separate panel of Judges in both rounds.
Mode Of Competition
The competition will be conducted online on a suitable platform, the details of which will be provided to the participants.
Eligibility
Law students duly enrolled in the 3-year LL.B. courses or 5-year integrated LL.B. courses may apply to participate in the Competition. Only one team per Institution/University can participate in the Competition.
Provisional Registration
The provisional registration is now open till 30th April 2021 and the list of selected teams shall be released on 2nd May 2021.
