Register by Dec 5

About the organiser

Bennett University established by the Times of India Group by the Act no 24 of 2016 of Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The Centre for Law and Social Sciences at Bennett University promotes research and teaching in law and social science.

The Centre focuses both on the law as an output (e.g. why do we see the laws we do, and what explains the design and change of legal institutions?) as well as law as an input (e.g. how does the law and application of the law affect social behaviour?).

About the Moot

Law and Technology have often shared a unique relationship. Not only does law seeks to govern various operational aspects in the usage of technology, it has also used technology for the purposes of its implementation. Technological advancements have often posed various challenges to the law which the latter is frequently struggling with.

This often brings us to a pertinent question as to whether law regulates technology or technology operates the implementation of the law. The School of Law, Bennett University is organising its second National Moot Court Competition from February 7 to 9, 2020 which revolves around this theme of law and technology focusing on the constitutionality of technologies used in Smart Cities.

The Moot Court Competition aims to dwell upon this infamous relationship between Law and Technology and its implication on the legal system.
