Who Is The Organiser?
The Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, the first of its kind in the IIT system was set up in 2006. The basis of the School is to cater to the need for lawyers with technical expertise. We see ourselves as a part of the global endeavor to integrate technology and law to build technical lawyers with expertise to deal with the legal issues in the interface of technology and law. As such we are the only Law School with a technology focus. The School offers three programs; LL.B with Honours Intellectual Property Rights; LL.M; and Doctoral Program in Law. The global perspective is captured well in the academic program in which we offer diverse set of courses. A comparative study of law from different jurisdictions is also an important feature of many of our courses.
The primary objective of our upcoming conference is to establish a dynamic platform that brings together students, researchers, academicians, legal practitioners, and other stockholders. This gathering aims to contribute significantly to the ongoing discourse surrounding essential reforms in India’s Pro Bono culture. In India, Pro Bono Legal Services have traditionally been carried out in an unorganized manner by individual lawyers, NGOs, and law firms. The conference seeks to address this by fostering collaboration and discussions that will lead to a more structured and impactful Pro Bono legal framework. By providing a space for dialogue, we aim to catalyze positive changes that will make justice more available, accessible, and affordable for all members of our society.
Furthermore, our focus extends to protecting the rights of the illiterate, the unheard, and the unfortunate segments of our society. We believe in building a robust Legal Aid System that not only addresses pressing concerns but also ensures a fair and just legal representation for those who need it the most. Join us in shaping the future of Pro Bono legal services in India, where our collective efforts can make a lasting impact on the lives of those who are underserved in our communities.
