Who Is The Organiser?
Rashtriya Raksha University, an Institution of National Importance of India, a pioneering National Security and Police University of India is under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The University aims to become an academic-research-training ecosystem for national security and police.
The School of National Security and Law (SNSL) aims to establish itself as a premier legal institution in the domain of Criminal and National Security Laws. It endeavors to achieve excellence by not just providing a well-rounded legal education but also advancing legal scholarship, engaging in capacity building, serving the public, and fostering justice.
The National Moot Court Competition organized by SNSL, RRU aims to grow and become one of the coveted mooting events across the law Schools across the country. In consonance with the aim of the Rashtriya Raksha University to create a cadre of legal professionals who are dedicated to the cause of security and law enforcement, the 1st RRU National Moot Court Competition shall be the first-of-its kind in India to focus on the domain of national security and criminal justice.
What Are The Details Of The Competition?
- Theme: Economic And Financial Security Of India
- Objective: The competition aims to bring together some of the finest and brightest law students in India who are inclined toward Criminal and Security Laws.
- Date of the event:
- Preliminary Rounds: 23rd August 2023
- Quarter-Final and Semi-Final Rounds: 24th August 2023
- Final Round: 25th August 2023
- Valedictory Ceremony: 25th August 2023
- Eligibility: The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bona fide on a regular basis in an under graduate law course (Three Year Course / Five Year Integrated Course) conducted by any recognized College / Institution / University.
- Participating Teams:
- A recognized College / Institution / University is entitled to send a maximum of 1 team to the competition.
- Each team shall comprise a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members. In a team comprising of two members, both members shall be designated as Orators. In a team comprising three members, two members shall be designated as Orators and the third member shall be designated as a Researcher.
- Teams shall not disclose their identity or that of their institution. However, the speakers can disclose their names only to the bench during the oral arguments.
- The accommodation arrangements to be provided on payment basis, shall only be provided to the students, and not any coach or accompanying faculty.
